FRANKFURT (Reuters) - German drugs and chemicals group
Bayer has received the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's approval for
its Hepatitis A Total assay, a diagnostic blood test, it said in a
statement on Wednesday.
The assay measures anti-hepatitis A antibodies in blood, and can be
used to aid diagnosis or to identify susceptible individuals for
vaccination.
In the United States, Bayer now has two assays for the hepatitis A
virus, three for hepatitis B and an assay for the detection of
hepatitis C.
