| Statement of Need/Program
Overview |
| The primary goal of this webcast is to review clinical implications of new data on the management and treatment of Hepatic Encephalopathy (HE) in patients with chronic liver disease. |

| Educational Objectives |
| At the conclusion of this initiative, participants will do the following: |

Describe the common complications of cirrhosis and the prognostic importance of hepatic encephalopathy (HE) |
| • |
Evaluate the impact of HE on the quality of life of patients with cirrhosis |
| • |
Apply the most current body of evidence to clinical decision making in the management of HE |
| • |
Assess data suggesting that cognitive impairment associated with overt HE may not be completely reversible |
