Target Audience
This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of transplant surgeons, gastroenterologists, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners involved in the care of patients with HE.
 
Statement of Need/Program Overview
The primary goal of this webcast is to review clinical implications of new data on the management and treatment of Hepatic Encephalopathy (HE) in patients with chronic liver disease.
 
Educational Objectives
At the conclusion of this initiative, participants will do the following:
Discuss the natural history and complications of hepatic encephalopathy including management options
Review the benefits of adding rifaximin to lactulose in the treatment of hepatic encephalopathy
