Recognize the benefits of using boceprevir or telaprevir in combination with pegylated interferon and ribavirin in the treatment of genotype 1 hepatitis C

Describe response guided therapy with approved protease inhibitors in combination with pegylated interferon and ribavirin
•
Review primary adverse reactions seen in registration trials of protease inhibitors; identify appropriate strategies for management of adverse reactions
Statement of Need/Program
Overview
The goal of this program is to improve healthcare providers competency in understanding the long-term effects and potential liver related complications of chronic liver diseases. The program will also provide education on management options and outcomes of treatment.
Target Audience
This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of gastroenterologists, hepatologists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, internal medicine and primary care physicians involved in the care of patients with chronic liver disease.
